by Giuseppe Lo Schiavo
This book was created for the Italian visual artist Giuseppe Lo Schiavo, known for his work at the intersection of technology, art history, and science. The publication presents his series Newscapes – October 2025, a collection of daily AI-generated window images inspired by global news.
Newscapes is an ongoing project in which Giuseppe Lo Schiavo transforms daily world news into poetic visual scenes. Each day, headlines from international sources are automatically collected and woven into a fixed generative prompt, which then produces an image framed as an open window. The system blends automation, prompt design, and Giuseppe’s established aesthetic, turning fast-moving information into a quiet, contemplative visual diary. The October 2025 edition captures a month of these “windows,” each one a subtle reflection of the emotions and events shaping our world.
The book was designed with a clean and minimal editorial approach, using contemporary typography, generous white space, and a calm visual rhythm throughout. Each spread was composed to give the images space to breathe and create a quiet, immersive reading experience.
Produced in a limited edition of ten copies, the book was hand-bound in fabric with a silver-embossed cover, giving it the character of a collectible art object. My role included the complete layout design, typography, sequencing, and overall visual direction of the publication.
